New Culture Oasis Registration is OPEN!

Please fill in the online registration form at the bottom of this page; you can either pay through the form or submit it without payment and we will email you an invoice. You then mail the invoice and your check (made out to CFNC) to the address shown on the invoice. If you have any questions about the registration process, please don’t hesitate to contact us at 240-920-6431 or registration@cfnc.us.

Please be aware that all attendees of New Culture Oasis must pre-register – we do not take walk-in participants. Payment in full is expected at the time of registration, unless you have made other arrangements with us. Should your circumstances change and prevent you from attending camp, if you inform us before camp starts that you will not be able to attend, we will refund your money less a small processing fee.

Please review this material before starting the registration process.

Fees for New Culture Oasis

The New Culture Oasis registration fee is on a sliding scale from $495 to $795, with an Early Bird discount of $100 if you register by July 1st. This fee includes tenting, all meals, and all program activities. The low end of the scale represents our basic cost while the top end is still lower than other comparable events. Any money received above and beyond our basic cost will go towards a scholarship fund for lower income individuals and the improvement of this and future camps. We ask you to pay as high on the scale as you can reasonably afford.

We want to offer the opportunity for as many people as possible to attend New Culture Oasis. For those in financial need, we can make work trade and/or scholarship arrangements. Most work trade is available before and just after camp – the work is usually done in the Washington DC area or at our site in West Virginia, and can sometimes be done in your home area as well. We are also open to barter arrangements. Please get in touch with us – if you want to be there, we want you there! Let’s figure out what works for you!

Please submit your applications for financial assistance before July 15th.

Indoor Accommodations

Tenting is encouraged and is included in the cost of your registration. Lodge rooms will not be available. Shared housing in cabins is available; more information on our cabins is found in the registration form.

In addition there is a motel located 3 miles up the road — rooms in the motel have two queen-sized beds and private bathrooms. If you wish to rent a motel room for Oasis please contact them directly at 304-825-3555 or reservations@mountaineer-motel.com.

Read more about our indoor lodging spaces on the venue’s website.

New Culture Oasis COVID Protocols
  • All attendees of New Culture Oasis are required to be vaccinated. Please submit your vaccine card here: https://form.123formbuilder.com/5958101/form
  • We request, but do not require, that attendees limit exposure (seeing unvaccinated people, being unmasked in public, etc.) in the week leading up to camp.
  • All attendees will need to arrange a PCR-RT test no more than two days before they arrive at camp. We ask that people mask until their test returns a negative result. If you have any questions or issues with arranging a test, please contact Michael at 703-755-0607.
  • We will perform a NON-CONTACT (forehead) temperature screening on everyone as they arrive.
  • After a negative test and a “normal” temperature are recorded there will be no masking or distancing requirements for anyone attending the event.

Ongoing Safety Needs During Camp (Wristbands):
For any participants who require a higher level of safety than the general camp protocol, we will provide wristbands to participants that will communicate what level of contact they are comfortable with.

We welcome suggestions and questions to make this a safe, delightful experience for all. Please email us at info@cfnc.us.

*Protocols subject to revision in the event of major changes in the COVID-19 pandemic – Full refunds will be given for any COVID-19 related cancelations.

Pre-Camp and Post-Camp

We’re offering a few opportunities for extending your New Culture Oasis experience: Pre-Camp, Tuesday 8/3 to Friday 8/6; a relaxed “extended camp” day with little extra program and provided meals on 8/13; and our take-down/post-camp time on 8/14 & 8/15.

Pre-Camp: Join us as we set-up for the event, take time to settle before everyone else arrives; stay with us to release the energy that we created and restore the site. We have two three-hour “work”-shop periods each day, plus play time in the afternoons.

People can also arrive early they wish to self-isolate on the campground (highly recommended for those who have the J&J vaccine and have nowhere they can self-isolate at home).

Those who wish to isolate or volunteer can arrive Tuesday 8/3 afternoon or evening; you have a choice to either pay the nightly rate for your sleep space, or help out with set-up tasks.  If you are helping with set-up, then plan to be ready to work first thing on Wednesday, August 4th.

Extended Stay: Everyone is welcome to stay for a an extra relaxed day after we close on Thursday 8/12. On Friday 8/13 lunch and dinner will be provided and breakfast will be self-made with food made available by the kitchen staff. There will be some light organizer-run programming, as well as sign-ups for camper-led activities! To cover food for this extended stay we ask anyone planning to stay to give an additional $50 in their registration fees. Everyone is welcome to stay that night as well into Saturday. We ask that anyone not volunteering to help with our takedown over the weekend plan to leave no later than noon on Saturday 8/14.

Post Camp: Volunteers for take-down will stay Friday night, 8/13, and we’ll be ready to work first thing on Saturday morning, 8/14. Take-down volunteers may stay Saturday night, when we will have connecting activities, leaving no later than 3pm on Sunday, 8/15.

Volunteers for set-up and takedown are asked to contribute at least $20 for either session, or $40 for both sessions– toward meals.

Additional Information

A confirmation packet, including contact information, emergency phone numbers, map with directions, camp COVID-19 protocols, and any last-minute news will be emailed to all registrants on or before the 20th of July.

Updates and new information about camp will be posted on our Facebook Event page, New Culture Oasis. Feel free to post about carpools on the Facebook page!
